MtF Looking For any kind of work!
Submitted by Jessica featherston on Thu, 12/22/2011 - 6:37pmHello My name is Jessica Featherston. I am an MtF in her third month of trasition, but things have suddenly become very complicated. Now that I am out to my family they are doing everything they can to make my life a living hell! I am being attacked daily and honistly I don't feel safe here! Jana Ekdhal is my councilor and she hads advised me to get the hell out of here as quickly as I possibly can! I live with my parrents who are avid members of the SDA church and now believe that my being transexual is because I am playing host to demonic powers... No freaking joke!!! I work at starbucks coffee co full time but its still not enough to afford to move out on my own or even find a room mate. What I need is any kind of job that will add to my bank roll each month. the hours need to be flexible with my hours at starbucks. If anyone knows of jobs available working for the city of seattle (for benifits!!!) that would be amazing however anything will do! I am looking everywhere and ingersoll isn't my soul search site for work, however given that I am trans help from my fellow gender nonconformists is absolutly ideal, so I thought what the hell I'll post here too and see what happens! Let me know what you can find or have to offer in the way of Job Opportunities in the greater seattle area, south sound, east or west side. With more than just myself on the job I just know that I can get working and earn enough money to get out of this horribly toxix environment! Help me in any way you can PLEASE! My email is jpfeatherston82@gmail.com or jpfeatherston82@ymail.com both work and i use them regularly.
Thank you for your time
New Study Seeking Cisgender Men Who Have Sex with Trans People
Submitted by Lincolnj28 on Fri, 08/06/2010 - 11:12amWell, ok, the study actually says they're looking for non-trans people, but I'm trying to use the term cisgender more and more. I picked up the link from an article on www.trans-health.com .
They say they are going to develop online HIV intervention materials to protect the health of these non trans cisgender partners and trans people. There is a $30 gift certificate in it for those who finish the survey.
Here's the weblink:
https://www.allgenderhealth.org/
Although I am glad (and shocked!) to see that they included trans men, part of me wonders how effective online resources will be for protecting the health of our community. I guess only time will tell!
