How do I change my gender marker and name on my US passport?
As of June, 2010, all that is needed is a letter from a medical professional stating that you are receiving appropriate clinical treatment for gender transition. This is a marked improvement over the previous policy which required gender reassignment surgery. For more information, please go to NCTE.
